The British Museum displays many collections of art and antiquities from both historic and today’s cultures. Located in one of Britain's well-known landmarks, this collection is one of the finest in the word, covering two million years of history . There is no charge to visit the British Museum.

Tate Modern Gallery

Tate Modern can be considered THE national gallery of international modern art, located in central London on the Docks of the river Thames. The Collection features the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day, as well as international modern art. All the Tate Collection can be seen online.

Built in the year 2000 using disused power station in the heart of London, Tate Modern shows the national collection of international modern art. This means art since 1900. Tate Modern shows modern British art where it has an important role in the story of modern art, that means major modern British artists may be found at both Tate Modern and Tate Britain.

Tate Britain Gallery

Tate Britain can be considered THE national gallery of British art. Located in central London, it is part of four Tate galleries. The Tate collection comprehends the national collection of British art from the year 1500 to modern days, as well as international modern art. Some of the most important artwork include important paintings of portraits from the age of Queen Elizabeth I by William Hogarth; of the eighteenth-century artist Gainsborough; of the animal artist George Stubbs. The twentieth century is represented by Stanley Spencer, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Francis Bacon and the Young British Artists (YBAs) of the 1990s.
