Vienna has a grand tradition of holding over two hundred balls each
year. The city is the last city to hold these balls as the other countries
have given up such a tradition. There can be as many as nine orchestras
playing live at each of the balls and each is held in one of the extravagant
and beautiful Vienna Palaces around the city and the Austrian countryside.
The Opera Ball is the most famous but is one among many other balls including
the Hunter’s Ball and the Café owner’s Ball. There is no limit to
the class of people who can attend. The length of the Ball Season runs
for about three months which gives each person the opportunity to be seen
