New York
While the city is not the ideal holiday destination chances are that
one might make a weekend trip with or without the family at some point.
If one is visiting New York for the first time then the classic sightseeing
trip of the city is one that must be done.
Some of the must sees of the city include the Empire State Building,
the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Station Times
Square and Ellis Island. The American Museum of Natural History, the Bronx
Zoo, the Central Park Zoo and the Children’s Museum of Arts are fun and
educational trips for the whole family.
Apart from these the Broadway shows are a must see: shows like the Little
Mermaid, the Lion King, Mary Pippins and the Blue Man Group are a delight
for both young and old alike. There are also huge toys stores like Toys
‘R’ Us that have attractions for kids of all ages.
If shopping is the agenda, then this city has no lack of destinations.
Flagship Stores of Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue are a
shopper’s paradise. Added to these are the shopping districts of Grand
Central Terminus, East Side of Manhattan and Harlem. New York is also called
the ‘city that never sleeps’ and with good reason. After a long day, the
only way to unwind is to be a part of the New York nightlife. After the
sun sets the city comes alive with bars, hotel lounges, hang outs, dance
clubs, jazz clubs, stand up comedy clubs, karaoke and gay bars and gentlemen’s
clubs.
In short, New York City is an experience like no other city. One of
the leading and most happening cities in the world, a trip to this city
is a must do just to experience the sheer energy, vibrancy and diversity
of this much loved land.
