Dublin
Dublin is the largest, most influential city and location of the government
of the island of Ireland. It has been a major force in the country since
medieval times. The city is rich in history and cultural attractions abound.
The city is famous as the home of several world class authors, actors and
much that is famous in Irish art and the artistic scene calls Dublin home.
The world renowned Chester Beatty Library draws scholars from all over
the world to view the collection of decorative manuscripts, paintings,
drawings and rare books assembled by honorary Irish citizen Sir Alfred
Chester Beatty. The Book of Kells, a noted example of insular art produced
by Celtic monks circa AD 800 is on display at Trinity College.
With its reputation as the friendliest city in Europe to protect, nightclubs,
bars and live street entertainment in Dublin draws crowds anxious to be
part of the Dublin experience. Performing groups from Dublin include U2,
Hothouse Flowers, Thin Lizzy and Boyzone. The area around the Temple Bar
has become a hot spot for tourists from Britain and elsewhere.
Dublin is a sports-mad city with the 4th largest stadium in Europe located

to Trinity College, the oldest and most prestigious of Ireland's educational
institutions. A visit to the Guinness Brewery Museum includes a free beer
and a tour of the brewery. You can visit Dublin's oldest pub at The Brazen
